The Savannah Folk
Music Society is a non-profit and tax exempt 501 C-3 cultural
arts organization dedicated to providing a forum for folk music and
dance in the greater Savannah area. Founded by a group of
Savannahians
in 1986, it was incorporated in 1988 and has grown to an active membership of over two hundred.
The Society hosts a variety of music and dance events throughout the
year for the membership and general public.
We
also produce an annual weekend
folk music
festival
sponsored by the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs/Leisure Services Bureau. The navigation buttons to the left will
take you to the areas of interest and guide you through the society
offerings. E-mail to the Society president or webmaster are
available through the links at the lower left.
We encourage you to explore our web pages, visit this beautiful city,
and attend our events. Membership information can be found in the
Information area. Music clips heard on some of the pages are
samples of performances by the membership. If you'd like to hear
more complete tracks, we have compilation CDs available featuring many of the Savannah area
musicians recorded at our First Friday For
Folk Music (more information can be found on our
Products
area).
Compilation CD for 2008 is Available (See Products Page)
